A New Year
a new start.

This photo was taken at the end of the Rock and Roll Marathon (June 4, 2006). Here I am with Pam Laird, who I had the privilege to coach, after she completed her first marathon!

Welcome to Gotta Run
Bruce Deaton's website

Every 9 minutes a Leukemia, Lymphoma or Myeloma patients loses their battle with these dreaded diseases.  Your gift of $50 could be just what is needed to find the cure!!

Through research funded by TEAM in TRAINING, the cure rates for the most common forms of childhood leukemia to 80%, although good, NOT GOOD ENOUGH

So if you had to choose to only save 8 of every 10 children, which would ones would you choose??  That is how I can get out the door each day, knowing that every step I take may get us one step closer to a cure!

I will continue my efforts until a 100% cure is found.

I Run...
FOR THE MEMORY OF MY DEAR FRIEND, NATE RUFFIN, whose battle with Leukemia ended October, 2001.  (Be sure to see WE ARE MARSHALL to get a glimpse of who Nate Ruffin was)

AND because of others, like Angie Richardson, a local mom from here in West Monroe who is both a marathoner and a survivor.

AND Lance Brown, a strong 13-year old friend from Rayville, LA.

AND Joe White, who courageously battles this disease while inspiring others with his powerful message at Promise Keepers conferences.

The cure for this disease can be just one step away. TEAM in TRAINING is one way I can carry on this mission and take that step.

I will continue to help achieve the mission of the LLS, which is to find a cure for blood-related cancers.  Please consider a life-saving gift that will support the benefits being provided by research funded by TEAM in TRAINING by donating to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society to support leukemia research and patient aid.

Make a tax-deductible donation, by emailing me or sending a check, payable to the LEUKEMIA/LYMPHOMA SOCIETY and mail it to:

MY INSPIRATION - Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us.
